julieI first met Julie many years ago through Networking and she knows her business inside and out. She is an expert on organizing and decluttering and speaks to groups about why people have challenges in this area or what is preventing them from being able to get organized. When Julie speaks about her business you know she is an expert in her field. This is Julie’s story.

Almost all the jobs I had before becoming a Professional Organizer have helped to make me better at my job.  During university I work in the office of a manufacturing company part time and during the summers.  After graduating from university I was a health and physical education teacher.  When I became a mom I decided to work part time.  I coached gymnastics for 22 years and worked as a sessional instructor at Brock University in the Faculty of Education for 6 years. All these job experiences help me to bring practical experience to office organizing, working with families, residential organizing, filing, developing systems, teaching and speaking about organizing to groups.

I knew about the field of Professional Organizing for about 20 years prior to starting my business.  At first the profession was too unknown for me to get into.  When I started a family I didn’t want to be running a business.  So at just the right time, my contract with Brock University was over and my children were grown up so I looked up Professional Organizing online and found the Canadian Association and jumped in and started my business, Mind over Clutter.  I have always been a naturally organized person and love helping people to figure out where they want things to go and how they want things to be,.  It has always been a passion of mine . Now I have been in business for 10 years.

Start your business when it is right for you.

As a Trained Professional Organizer my company Mind over Clutter provides decluttering, time management, system development and space organization through:

Organizing your space, systems and files in your office
Residential organizing services for any part of your home
Virtual organizing using online communication to help you complete your own organizing project
Speaking to groups about many topics related to simplifying your life and space
Consultation reports so you have a step by step plan to complete your own project.

My company also removes all donations at the end of each session and removes any recycling that is not picked up at the curb in your community.

In my professional community I am part of Professional Organizers in Canada and have worked nationally on the Education Committee and the National Conference Committee. At the local level I have been involved with my Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Coordinator since 2006.

In my local community I have used my time at

  • my children’s school,
  • my church as a librarian and Sunday School teacher,
  • on the board of a building fund for a new arena and library
  • and sports associations as a coach and parent representative.
  • I donate to many of the community organizations, library, food bank, and fund raising events.

Mind over Clutter comes to your home or office to work with you Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm.  Evening and weekend hours are available on a limited basis as needed to suit the client’s schedule. I serve the area from Oakville to Brantford to Fort Erie.  Virtual Organizing can serve anyone in any place in the world.
